[He has gotten used to going to bed with Diluc. It has become a routine and the worries about how long this would be allowed have faded. Some part of him still worries this is all a dream and he would wake up in his flat all alone.
The sun rises. He clings to Diluc as he rises. He doesn’t pull on him to come back to bed. Kaeya acts like a cat that refuses to move as they shuffle across the room to the bathroom. He mumbles a reply to a question while trying to keep dozing.
He’s being a brat. The attitude works until he hears a rustle and the thump of fabric hitting the floor. His eyes snap open. The question surfaces and he opens his mouth then closes it.
He lets go of Diluc and pulls his long shirt up and over his head on automatic. Too late to retreat and he doesn’t want to disappoint his soul mate. His face feels hot. He ignores it.]
[Diluc is getting used to Kaeya's mood in the morning. And while it's terribly endearing and he's thoroughly charmed by it, he also needs to tear himself out of bed, and this time Kaeya comes with him, so he figures they may as well make the most of it.
So he asks him to come to the shower with him if he feels the need to be clingy. He's half asleep himself, and the question makes sense really.
He's already out of his pajamas and reaching to set the shower running to let it warm up before he looks back to Kaeya.]
[His long shirt falls from his fingers as he stares at the naked back of one Diluc Ragnvindr. He expected scars. But Diluc is a work of art he can’t tear his eyes away from.
He coughs and turns away. He pulls his boxers off while his embarrassment floods his mind. At least he’s wide awake now. Damn he wants to run his hands over Diluc’s back…
He kicks that part of him to silence and looks back over his shoulder.] Of course I won’t wear a shirt into the shower. I’m just slower in the morning, you know that by now.
[He sets his pajamas aside neatly. He turns back to glance at Kaeya, catching him just as he rids himself of his boxers. It's a lovely view from this side of the room too., and he lets his eyes wander.
Is he imagining that blush that's visible as Kaeya glances back at him.]
Yes, yes. You're not a morning person. I'm a little afraid that's rubbing off on me.
[He's never lingered in bed half so long as he does now that Kaeya is sharing it with him. Moving closer he sets a hand lightly against Kaeya's back, leaning in to press a kiss to his shoulder.]
[He can feel Diluc’s eyes on him. He has to breathe to suppress a shiver. He’s so focused on keeping a lid on it he doesn’t notice Diluc is behind him until his hand touches his shoulder. The heat of him behind him stills his thoughts and his breath catches.
Oh, the warmth of his hand. He doesn’t even realize he’s leaning into his touch until he hears his voice so close to his ear.] Mm? Right.
[He waits to turn around until Diluc is heading for the shower. He swallows hard.] You’re welcome by the way. I told you all that time ago that a little extra rest wouldn’t harm you.
[Diluc hears that catch of breath, and his touch lingers -- though it was going to linger anyway if he's being honest with himself. He steps closer and leans in to press a kiss to the back of Kaeya's neck before he finally moves to step into the shower.
He looks back and doesn't bother hiding the smile at Kaeya's words. When it's just the two of them in these quiet moments along together, he smiles more, small glimpses of the young man he'd been.]
Yes, you told me so. I know. [He holds out a hand towards him.]
[He stares at him. It occurs to him - not for the first time - that Diluc is a gorgeous man. His heart thuds hard in his chest but not from desire.
Diluc smiling so much is wonderful. He wants him - both of them - to be happy. It’s enough to forget they’re both naked and turn at take his hand. He threads their fingers together and steps close enough their sides brush.
Then his brain catches up with his heart. He looks down.
Oh. He jerks his head back up and pretends he didn’t look. He’s blushing and stammers out.] L-lets continue.
[Diluc wants that too. Kaeya deserves to be happy -- not that veneer of happiness and good cheer he knows Kaeya is so good at presenting to the world -- genuinely, truly happy.
That said, shy Kaeya has proven to be such a surprise that he barely knows what to do with how adorable he finds it. Even now. He catches that look down. Mostly because he's giving one of his own.
Diluc will not pretend he did not look. Now that he's committed to this, he's a great deal less shy about it.]
Yes, let's.
[He agrees, leaning in to press a kiss Kaeya's cheek, stepping in all the closer. The water is hot and Kaeya is close and it's the best sort of morning.] Can I shampoo your hair?
Yes, if I can scrub your back. [This is the best morning he has ever had. Embarrassment aside.
It keeps sticking in his head that Diluc in his usual way isn’t that shy at all. Unlike him. Well, he would be the same way if it didn’t mean anything.
But, he cares. He loves Diluc. This matters so much. The affection wells up in him to mix with the desire warming him up. He kisses Diluc’s neck then his jaw. He lifts their joined hands and kisses the back of Diluc’s hand.
He feels giddy and light headed. He hasn’t thought that far ahead in how he feels. But the words burn in his heart. He loves Diluc.]
First shower together (before they get hit with married Au)
